Maritime Security Forum Rules

Welcome to our forum. We value your membership and participation. We have established our Terms of Service to protect you and ensure that you have a productive and enjoyable experience. Please feel free to notify us of ways that we can improve and enhance this forum.

Privacy
We will not sell or otherwise disclose your email address or personal information.
 
Terms of Service
This is a community of individuals and professionals from many walks of life who share a common interest in the security of vessels, their personnel, and the security of all marine related assets. Discussions will be kept courteous, professional, and on-topic or they will be deleted and the user permanently banned. This is a privately owned and operated forum with no affiliation or sponsorship from any government organization. We reserve the right to control the content of this site as we see fit, to include the editing of posts that we deem in need of alteration. You can abide by the terms of service or choose not to visit this site until you are willing to abide by the terms of service.
 
Specifically Banned Behavior/Material/Discussions:
  • Politics (unless directly related to maritime security legislation)
  • Pornography
  • Spamming
  • Email address collection/solicitation
  • Commercial Solicitation
  • Any form of illegal activity
  • No cyber stalking, trolling or bullying
  • Other activities that the forum users and/or administrators find offensive

Common Courtesy Required
  • We run a very tight ship. The members of this forum will be treated with courtesy at all times.
  • Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Debate and challenge others' points of view and opinions respectfully and with forethought.

  • Refrain from excessive vulgar language.

  • Duplicate accounts will be deleted or merged.
  • Participants will not bump threads unnecessarily. “Bumping” is posting useless information, posting one-liners or any other action to deliberately keep a thread hot.
 
Posting standards
  • Be concise and accurate.
  • No rumors or gossip.
  • Use standard fonts available on the forum..
  • Use bold, large or colored fonts sparingly. Posts containing inappropriate formatting will be removed or modified at our discretion; e.g. all caps or excessive color. E-mail and web address are not appropriate forum user names.
 
Copyright Protected Content
Information that has been copyrighted by any individual or entity other than the posting member cannot and will not be posted on the discussion forums without the consent of the copyright owner. Copyrighted material includes images and text produced and owned by others. If this should occur, the individual posting the information will be held solely responsible. “Fair Use” doctrine applies; be sure that you are operating within the legal definition of fair use.
 
Signature Standards
  • Signatures must be setup in your profile rather than manually added to your messages. They will appear at the bottom of every post you make.
Account Management
Requests for changes to your account should be made by using the Contact Us link at the bottom of every forum page. Participants may only have one account. Moderators may consolidate or delete multiple accounts.
